Doctorow disses Democrats

Copyleft activist and EFF fellow Cory Doctorow, reacting to Vice President Joe Biden's Tuesday speech to entertainment executives:
I would have voted Dem in the last election, if I got a vote, but make no mistakes: the Dems are the party of stupid copyright laws. From Hollywood Howard Berman on down, they've got a terrible track record on technology and copyright policy.
Doctorow is Canadian and thus can't threaten to vote for the other guys, or even withhold contributions.

  1. Canadians and other “foreigners” are perfectly entitled to opinions on American copyright issues, especially since the USA is so intent on exporting and imposing its copyright values and laws on other countries. And particularly on Canada as Joe Biden has just shown, and as we shall probably see illustrated any day now in the annual “Special 301" show.

  2. Just to be clear: no one is suggesting that Doctorow (or any other non-citizen) isn't entitled to comment on American politics (or anything else).

Comments that contain name-calling, personal attacks, or the like will be rejected. If you want to rant about how evil the RIAA and MPAA are, and how entertainment companies' employees and attorneys are bad people, there are plenty of other places for you to go.
