Judge Michael Davis today set the briefing schedule on Jammie Thomas-Rasset's Motion for a New Trial, Remittitur, and to Alter or Amend the Judgment. The record label plaintiffs' opposition is due July 22, and the defendant's reply July 29. The court's order does not address the timing of potential amicus briefs, and the District of Minnesota's local rules do not address the subject (nor do the Federal Rules).
Keep in mind that the Joel Tenenbaum trial is set to begin July 27, right in the middle of this briefing schedule. Tim Reynolds (backed by a team at Holme, Robert & Owen) is the lead counsel in both the Thomas-Rasset and Tenenbaum cases, and Thomas-Rasset's lead attorney Kiwi Camara is playing a role in Tenenbaum as well. A very busy summer for all.

If you want to rant about how evil the RIAA and MPAA are, and how entertainment companies' employees and attorneys are bad people, there are plenty of other places for you to go.
