Pedantic Anti-Piracy Post of the Day
This Torrent Freak post reminds me of one of my most insignificant pet peeves. The fight against piracy is often analogized to a game of "Whack-a-Mole," meaning that if you take out one pirate, another pops up right away. One problem: the arcade game that spawned the metaphor is spelled "Whac-a-Mole." Just as there's no "I" in "team," there's no "k" in "whac."

If you want to rant about how evil the RIAA and MPAA are, and how entertainment companies' employees and attorneys are bad people, there are plenty of other places for you to go.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Guac-a-Mole, the most delicious arcade game of all?
ReplyDeleteThe title Whack 'Em All sounds like a ripoff of either The Sopranos or Metallica.
